We finally got "the call" yesterday afternoon. I was so excited!!! It is very rare to get pictures prior to travel in Moscow, but we were sent photos of a baby due to her having some issues. We started to fall in love immediately and thought that the "issues" were not a big deal. I sent the photos to our International Adoption Doctor. We didn't have a medical report, just pictures and a couple facts. They reviewed and got back to us with a negative report. I don't want to go into too much detail, but we decided that she wasn't the baby for our family. We need to think about the boys and how their lives could be affected. We talked all night and I cried all night, but feel comfortable with our decision. I told our agency this morning and she assured us we are still next on the list for a little girl.
But then she told us about the DOE (the people who place children in homes) shutting down June through August. So that leaves us with a couple weeks room to get a new referral or we will have to wait until September. I can't even believe this is happening. I think I've run out of tears ...probably not :)
We have watched so many families come home with beautiful, healthy babies. I feel so sad that we waited so long for a referral and it wasn't what we expected.
Please say a prayer for us that a miracle happens..soon!!! Enjoy this beautiful weather!
We were blessed with 2 healthy, beautiful sons. But someone was missing! We traveled to Moscow, Russia to bring home our baby girl and complete our family!

Aidan's First Project
It finally happened...Aidan was assigned a project for school! The kid has watched his brother make posters and projects for 4 years now. He always felt left out and jealous. Well, it's his turn now! Aidan's class has been learning about the rainforest for a couple weeks now. The project paper came home yesterday after school and Aidan went right to work on it. We luckily had the poster board at home since we knew his project would be soon. He knew exactly what he wanted to do and only wanted minimal help. He insisted I draw a "flying toucan". Not a simple one perched on a stick, but one with spread wings. I am not an artist, but we managed. There obviously was some parental help, but he wouldn't take any guidance :) Aidan knows what he wants!!!
He took it to school today. I'm sure the teacher thinks I must be psycho mom who makes her 6 year old complete a week long project in less than 24 hours :) Look how proud he is!!!

Race Day
The boys' school had a fundraiser this year called "Race for Education". The school collected donations for the kids running for one hour. It was a VERY successful fundraiser and friday was RACE DAY! The kids did fantastic, all the kids! The loop they had to run had 2 hills in it and was between 1/4 mile and 1/3 mile. Nate ran 19 laps and Aidan ran 20. Yes, that was an issue :) Brad took the day off to be there to cheer them on and so did Mom mom, Mimi, Poppie and Aunt Denise. We made posters for them for keep them motivated. I got to be a spectator for Nate's race time and I volunteered during Aidan's. The kids wore cards with rubber bands around their wrists and as they completed a lap they got a hole punched on their card. Race Man (a favorite teacher at school) was their to run with all the kids. His ensemble was completed with a smashing blue cape! We couldn't have asked for better weather and the whole day was great. The kids had a blast and slept really well that night :)
Here's Nate running his first lap. Look how happy!

Getting a little tired...

And we're walking... (He started to run again after this. He did great!)

Aidan's first lap. This is the one and only picture of Aidan running. Can you see him? He is in the red shorts and light blue hat. Remember, I was volunteering and Brad had the camera!

Happy Easter
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! We had a great day! This year we went to Brad's parents for the weekend. We had a very nice visit with Mimi, Poppie, Aunt Amy, Rob, Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Todd, Ryan and Emma. The boys were thrilled because they got to see their cousins! We also got to celebrate Brad's brother, Todd's 40th birthday. The kids enjoyed Easter mass due to the "play" that took place complete with Jesus rising from the tomb :) Nate even got tears in his eyes, along with me, of course. We had a delicious meal and then had to head home because the kids had school on Monday. I'll leave you with some pictures.
We dyed Easter eggs. I used to love this, but am starting to think it is more trouble than it's worth :)
Nate is hard at work here. Check out the concentration :)

Aidan has always like dying Easter eggs!

Aren't they just the prettiest eggs!?!

The boys had to find their hidden baskets!

The Easter Bunny was very good to these little munchkins. This is Nate and Aidan with their cousins, Emma and Ryan.

We had an Easter egg hunt for the all the kids. They each had one color to look for so there wouldn't be any tears. Here is Aidan with all his eggs.

Just Waiting...
I am still holding my breathe for a possible May travel date. No word yet, but wouldn't it be a nice Easter present for us??? I am such a planner and only a couple weeks notice of travel might send me off the deep end. I keep hoping and praying we'll get lucky with a gift of advanced warning. I think God has dragged this adoption on to teach me patience. I'm not a very quick study in that department :)
Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!!!

I wanna win!!!
My sister Denise is doing a giveaway on her blog. I wanna win! I get an entry in the contest if I post about it on my blog. So here you go...
Check under my "My Blog List" and click on "Running Journal".
I have to do it this way because I'm not very good at putting links in my blog. :) Maybe one day it will be easy for me!
