Ladybug Siting

I am always on the look out for ladybugs! I notice them everywhere...on clothing, books, jewelry, etc. Today I saw a real live ladybug! It was just hanging out on our back door. I got all excited and then felt a pang of sadness because I know our chances of getting a referral the next few months are S L I M . I have not been obsessing over the adoption lately merely because I feel like I am in survival mode. It's too stressful to invest so much time and energy into thinking and dreaming of something that seems like it may never happen. Anyway, the ladybug put a smile on my face and reminded me that we are in this for the long haul. If you have no idea why I am talking about ladybugs, check out my post Ladybug Myth

Memorial Day

We had a wonderful holiday weekend. We traveled to Virginia to visit with Brad's family and celebrate our nephew, Ryan's First Holy Communion. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera and didn't get any pictures of the 4 cousins :( The boys had a great time having a "double sleepover" with Ryan and Emma. Emma is such a trooper playing by herself with all the crazy boys around. I think she REALLY needs a little girl cousin!!!
On Monday, we had a small get together by the pool. The weather was so beautiful and the kids had a blast swimming! I took a total of 2 pictures the whole day. I really need to get my act together...or get my husband to buy me a fun new camera!

Nate the Great!

I wasn't getting a smile out of this one today...always the clown!

A Little Bit of Everything

Well, time is ticking away and no phone call yet :( Trying to keep hopeful and not go places in my mind where all the negative thoughts hang out. Thanks for all the support we have received. It really means so much to us to know people are pulling for us and sending up the prayers.
We have been pretty busy around here lately and I thought I would just post some pictures of the kids "doin' their thing".

Aidan is playing Coach Pitch baseball this year. Check out this action shot!

Run, Aidan, run!!!!

Here are the cutest little Ironbirds ever: Matthew, Aidan and Jack

Nate had his Evening of Sharing for his Challenge class. There were so many cool board games and other projects. Nate really wanted to have something Russian to eat at his table. So...last minute I found a recipe for Russian Tea Cakes. They look a lot like the Italian Nut Balls. Oh well, everyone seemed to like them. I even had one woman tell me I should sell them. Don't think I'll be starting my own catering business just yet.

Nate is playing kid pitch baseball this year. The games can be very long and uneventful. Usually mostly walks and stike-outs.

And he swings...and misses.

Pool's open!!! We'll be using just the hot tub for a while since the pool temperature is around 55 degrees!!! I love my boys!

Nate had his concert last night. He did great and all the third graders have come so far! I can't even read music, so I find it so impressive that these little kids can not only read music, but play string instruments!
