3 Year Old Check Up

Grace had her 3 year check up today. She is growing like a weed!!! She weighs 41 lbs and is 41 3/4 inches!!! Off the charts for both, but more so for her height. The doctor said she is the size of an average 4 1/2 year old! Unfortunately, she doesn't act like a 4 1/2 year old. Which WE don't expect her to, but I think people in general expect more out of her than she can give. We were told to subtract a year in what we expect emotionally and with behavior. So now I have this 2 year old who looks like a 4 1/2 year old!!!! Poor Gracie! But she is strong and healthy, so we are happy!!!! Not the best picture, but the most recent of my "fast and fearless" 3 year old!!!

Grace Turns 3!!!

Happy Birthday to a sweet, spunky, funny, beautiful 3 year old! We love you, Gracie!!!

We had a family party for Grace this weekend. It was gorgeous weather and so nice to celebrate with everyone! We got a moon bounce for the weekend and the kids all had a blast (along with some adults)! They bounced their brains out! I'm so annoyed with myself AGAIN for not getting enough pictures. I always get so many of kids and forget about the adults. I'm going to have to start hiring someone to take pictures for me. Today is Grace's actual birthday, so maybe I will at least get some of Brad and I with her!

Grace couldn't make up her mind on a cake, so we decided to make girly fun cupcakes! Grace helped pick out the toppings and was on sprinkle duty (until she decided she would rather eat the cupcakes!)

On sunday, we had a couple friends over to bounce and have cupcakes with Grace. When I told her a couple days before her family party who was coming, she said, "No grown ups! Only girls!" Luckily we had the moon bounce all weekend and were able to have Meghan and Charlotte over to play for Grace.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! We had a lovely day! Went to church bright and early. Then we headed over to my sister's house for lunch with the family. Everything was delicious and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! Kids had a blast! Thanks, Denise and Andy!

All I wanted was one decent picture of my three angels on Easter, when everyone was clean! Grace has started the "I'm 3, therefore I have a fake smile" phase. Nate and Aidan both went through it. Nate's lasted a LONG time and still appears from time to time :) Aidan is really the only one I can count on most of the time to cooperate and not look like he is in pain. (I take a lot more pictures of the boys than I post. But due to smile issues, they don't always get displayed out of respect to the smiler:) See Easter Basket pictures below.

I have no idea what this is...

Getting out of hand.

Grace's new skill and obsession is blowing raspberries. Enough said.

Good enough :) We'll take it.

See what I mean? They're still cute though:)
Poor Nate. He woke up CRANKY and had trouble even pulling together this smile! I had to take 4 pictures!!!!

I think she must be scared of her Easter basket :)

Thanks, Aidan!

Counting and lining up her eggs!

EGGcellent Easter Eggs!

FAKE SMILE ALERT!!! I hope this phase doesn't last too long or she will have a pretty funny wedding slideshow one day:)

I found these dye sticks that look like Qtips with dye in them. They actually worked pretty well.

Early Intervention

Well, with Grace turning 3 soon, she has aged out of Early Intervention. That means goodbye to her two therapists. It was sad to say goodbye after seeing them almost every week for a year. They helped Grace so much and really put a lot of effort into connecting with her. Grace made it very difficult in the beginning. She had walls up all over the place! I'll miss kicking around ideas on how to help Grace, learning more about my daughter through them and the chit chat :) I'm not sure if Grace feels this as a loss yet. We talked about it being their last day and tried to prepare her for not seeing them anymore. And then Grace was a little stinker the whole time!!! I felt bad that their last day was with a little girl with major attitude.

Grace was evaluated by the Intermediate Unit and qualified for more behavior services, but not OT. She will be getting a new therapist soon that will come to the house until Grace starts preschool in September. Grace still continues to be headstrong and they feel that she will benefit from support in school until they see how she does. At home, things are pretty much under control, however she does require lots of discipline. She has come so far over the past year, but is still my most challenging child:) And possibly the funniest too!!! She keeps us laughing!
