Pool Fun!

Nothing much to say, but just wanted to share this picture of the boys playing in the pool today. Better not show my husband because I keep asking for a new camera! He'll say this one works just fine :(

First 5K

This post should really be titled "First and Last 5K", but I DID IT! I really didn't think I had it in me to run 3 miles since I don't enjoy running much at all. I feel good after I do it and it helped me lose weight recently, but it's not fun. Anyway, I am really proud of myself. I ran it in 33 minutes. I just didn't want to come in last :) Brad ran it also and did it in 23 minutes! The only preparation Brad really had was playing soccer one night a week. Good job, Brad! My sister, Denise (the marathoner) ran it with me at turtle speed to keep me going. She carried my water bottle and all! She was very supportive and I never would have ran the whole thing if she wasn't next to me telling me I could do it. You'll make a great personal trainer, Denise! Well, after thinking about it for 4 months, it's finally over! My knee and hip are killing me (there were quite a few hills on this route), but I feel great!!!

Summer Starts

School's out and summer is here! We had our annual beach vacation at OCNJ last week. The weather was less than desirable, but we still managed to have fun. Our last day there turned out to be a gorgeous day and made up for days of wind, rain and cold temperatures.

We did all the usual stuff: mini golf, arcade, rides, beach and also squeezed in Cape May Zoo and the movies when it was too cold for the beach. We did lots of early morning bike rides to the coffee place on the boardwalk. The boys had coffee almost every morning! That is not something I usually let them have, but they wanted to try it so we got them the yummy decaf flavored coffees with lots of flavored creamer! Just the way I like it :) They thought it was so cool that they were allowed to have coffee. I was happy that it was half the price of the hot chocolate!

The boys had a great time, but were ready to come home to Wii, their friends and the pool! Now we start summer vacation at home!

Playing around with Pop-pop.

Water fight in the ocean.

Goofing around during what was suppose to be a photo session :)

Still being goofy!

The last day...and they decide to cooperate!

Nate Turns 9

Our baby turned 9 this weekend! I can't believe I have a nine year old :( He's making his 23 year old mother feel old!!!!! Brad and I had a wedding to go to this weekend, so the boys spent the night at Mom mom and Pop-pop's house. We had plans to take Nate out for his birthday on Sunday. He started off wanting to go to Dave and Buster's. But then last week, he decided he wanted to do Hibachi. Yeah! I loved that idea a lot more...yummy food verses loud arcade! Nate told me to invite some family members. Aunt Denise, Uncle Andy, Mom mom and Pop-pop were all available so we headed to Benihanna's. We had a very nice lunch! Food was good, but the cooking experience was just OK. There wasn't a whole lot of "show". We have done Japanese Hibachi before and it was amazing! Anyway, we all had a great time, especially Nate! They brought him out a bowl of ice cream and sang "Happy Birthday" in English and Japanese! Now if I could just stop him from getting any older...that will be my birthday wish :)

Nate opening presents...the best part of course.

Nate and Aidan

The boys got these cool menu/chef hats! I wish we had a video of me chasing Aidan's hat through the parking lot when the wind took it :)

Mom mom and Pop-pop came along to help us celebrate!

Aunt Denise and Uncle Andy joined us for lunch, too.

Our chef, Jose, made this cute smiley face out of eggs for the fried rice.

Blowing out the Buddha candle! I hope he wished for a referral :)
