Family Dinner

We went to my sister, Michelle's house for dinner this weekend! We ate VERY well and had a wonderful time with family. Grace especially loved Taj. Poor Taj didn't really feel the same way about Grace :(

Mimi's Birthday

Mimi celebrated her 65th Birthday last weekend! We all went to Virginia to be together. As usual, the kids had a blast together. Grace just adores her cousin, Emma!!! We feasted on crabs and shrimp! It was such a beautiful weekend! Happy Birthday, Mimi!!!

Baking with Mommy

Grace loves to help bake or cook or mix or anything involving utensils and a step ladder. She helped me decorate Mimi's cupcakes. She took her job as Sprinkler very seriously. Every cupcake was a unique work of art. Some cupcakes had a beautiful pile of sprinkles right in the center and others had a few little flecks of color off to one side. I think I must have mellowed a bit because I actually enjoy when she helps. The boys just drove me crazy :)

It looks like she is practicing to be a sword swallower, but she is really just licking the icing off the icing spreader thingy.

More Gymnastics

I took my good camera this week to gymnastics and wanted to share. Grace LOVES it! She listens so much better than I ever thought she would to her coach. I guess she saves her defiance for me :) I love that she is starting to show some caution for things that she is unsure of. Not that I want her to be afraid, just not get hurt.

This is one of things she shows some caution with. Makes me a little nervous that the coach isn't there helping 2 year olds climb this thing. Grace just hangs out at the top until her coach gets to her.

Grace kept popping in and out of this and roaring!!! Not technically what she was suppose to be doing, but funny!

First Gymnastics Class

Grace had her first gymnastics class today and did AWESOME!!! You never know how things are going to go down with Grace as far as new people or places. But she marched right out there with Coach Gillian and the other kiddos. She followed along and listened the majority of the time. A few times she tried to wander off but always came back when called. I'm so thrilled with this class! The coach was great with the kids, it's great OT for Grace, it gets Grace used to another adult being in charge, socializing with other kids and a nice 45 minute break for Mommy :) And the very best part... Grace loved it!!!

My pictures are lousy since they are from my phone. I'll take my camera next week!

Love My Girl

Time is flying by! Yesterday marked 17 months that Grace has been in our arms for good. It was also my hubby's birthday :) I wanted to take some time to document some of the ridiculously cute things I love about our Grace!

She loves to play pirate and cowgirl. Today she even went as far as to pretend the shopping cart at Walmart was a pirate ship. I let her stand in the big part and she kept saying, "Ahoy, Mommy!" and "Turn". I guess I was First Mate :)

I love that when she hides, the eyes being closed is a must. Last night we were hiding from daddy as he was coming home from work. We were very well hidden behind the sheer curtains in the playroom and Grace said, "Close eyes, Mommy." It took Brad FOREVER to find us :)

She sings along to theme songs from her favorite shows, but only sings the last word of each line. Unfortunately, she has inherited my singing ability :(

She says "Ok, Mommy" all the time in the SWEETEST voice . Sigh...

She's very dramatic! She will shove her arm in between couch cushions and yell for help.

She exhibits so much excitement over the small things in life. Getting to go, well, anywhere in the car, leads to cheering and "Let's go, Mommy!"

Favorite new line, "Check it out, Mommy!" She started that one while looking at the zoo map we brought home last week. So stinkin' cute!

I can always tell when I've made a winning dinner. She always acknowledges it with a "Yummy!" as she eats. Last night was, "Yummy, mushrooms!"

She does Conga line dancing into the pool while singing, "Conga, conga, conga!"

She calls the candy Smarties.... Farties! And slippers.... flippers:)

She is really starting to show empathy for others. If I'm upset, angry or say I don't feel well. Grace will immediately say, "Happy Mommy! Huggy."

She can work my iphone like crazy. She can look at pictures and will quit my games I have going with friends. Ok, I don't love that, but I am still very impressed :)

She wakes up happy every day!!!!
