Well, it's gone! The homestudy and other documents are on their way to our coordinator. No problem getting the apostilles done this time. When I took the papers back to the Notary to be signed, she said, "Well, look at that. I DIDN'T sign. The paper didn't have a line for me to sign on. They always have a line." I knew it had to be our fault that the Notary forgot to sign her name even though that is what they are paid to do.
Anyway, everything worked out and we are getting so close. I am almost afraid to write this, but we could possibly have a travel date in May!!!!!! I'm trying to not get too excited and just sit tight. Keep your fingers crossed and the prayers coming. :)

She gets paid to stamp and sign and forgot to sign. Nice. Glad it's on it's way.
Great news! I'll keep my fingers crossed and say prayers for May.
Jeanette,
I came accross your blog through another blog while I was researching Russian agencies. We decided to work with Lighthouse and have just begun the paperwork process for their Moscow program.
My husband and I began the process in China then switched to Vietnam and now are cautiously hopeful about Russia.
I was laughing when I read this post. I can't stand the fact that at every step of this process (regardless of country) it is essential that I play the "fool" or more appropriately the "idiot". Everything is our fault even if it's in writing. My recent favorite is another agency telling me in writing that it would take 3 weeks to process an application and then when I called them on it at six weeks, they said that it takes 6+ weeks and they didn't know where I got three - no response when I forwarded the email...of course.
Good luck, you're close now. We're excited to be connected with a few families that are ahead of us in the process.
Catherine

Hey Jeanette -- congrats on this latest big step. You'll be in Moscow before you know it!!
Can't wait to hear more. I am so appreciative for all your notes.
