Six Months in Our Arms!

Time is flying by! Six months ago we walked into Baby Home #3 and finally had our daughter in our arms forever! We have been through so much the past 6 months. Grace was never the quiet, meek little girl like so many other people talk about. She has been strong willed and energetic from day one! However, she has mellowed a bit :) The girl knows what she wants, but also knows there are rules and does so much better at following them. She is so much fun and gives the best hugs! Nothing is better than watching her run and give her brothers bear hugs, except maybe when she climbs behind me and wraps her little arms around my neck :) My love for Grace has grown so much. It was difficult in the beginning to feel that "walk through fire" love when I was being hit or bit. We have figured out so much together and I would do anything for my daughter. We are all so in love with her!!! We truly have been blessed with this little girl and love watching her learn and grow.

Poor Grace is still dealing with hives. Only now she is COVERED in them! She woke up yesterday morning (even having Zyrtec at night) with hives everywhere. From her face down to her feet. Benadryl and Zyrtec are not taking care of it anymore. It has been 4 weeks since she first broke out in hives. We don't go to the allergist for 10 more days. We are suppose to be taking her off all meds but I'm nervous since she is this bad on the meds. The meds tend to make the hives less raised, but do not get rid of the red marks. I'm going to have to call the doctor this morning since they are now in the diaper area!

Last night we went to my sister, Denise's (and Andy) house for dinner. We haven't been there in a long time to see all the changes to the house. The food was great and the kids had a blast running around and slipping all over the shiny hardwood floors. We certainly left out mark, though. Grace left boogers all over the couch and found every pen hidden in the drawers. Nate played hockey with an ice cube, while Grace dropped ice all over the floor. Aidan dripped water every time he filled his glass at the fridge. And the best was, I brought dog poop in on my shoe. I wonder when she will have us over again????

Grace picked the biggest shoes in the house to wear around :)

This is only partially posed. Nate and Grace were sitting on the step together and I made Aidan go sit with them :)

Aunt Denise being the Hostess with the Mostest.

We caught the three of them army crawling across the floor. In a house with no toys, they were forced to make their own fun :) It cracks me up that Grace is doing it with her ice cube!

Hi Jeanette, She is adorable! I love reading about her progress & seeing her pictures! I'm so glad things are going so well for you all. This is probably far-fetched, but are you absolutely sure her hives are scabies? Jill had scabies (diagnosed as hives or ecsema) and they'd go away and come back. Just curious if your doctor has thought that way? Or, it could be a post-scabies rash. After we cured the scabies on Jill & me, we both had some reocurring rash as our bodies slushed off the little nasty critters. Gross, I know.....

She's beautiful & so happy! So happy for your family!

I should have said "are you sure her hives are NOT scabies". Sorry for the typo.

Grace is so sweet! I love her dress. I hope you guys get a quick diagnosis with her allergist so she can feel better. That has to be so frustrating. Tell Denise her place looks great! I love her kitchen tile and floors.

Well just tell your sis, your breaking in the house now. That way when they do something to the house on accident it won't be as bad! Hope Grace gets better, that is really weird about her hives. Good luck in figuring that out. hows your workouts been? I haven't gone as much as I would like. I think I put on another 5 lbs.

Oh the boogers and dog poop are too funny! Thanks for the smile this morning.

Glad things are going better and better. Since Anna left the baby home, she is NOT timid and meek either. She is fiesty and stubborn and can be difficult. But all she needs to do is sind her "Mommy mommy" song and my heart melts.

Grace is adorable and I hope her skin problems can be figured out SOON poor thing.
