You Can Call Me Ma
I've waited so long, almost 9 months, to hear my baby girl actually call me "Mommy" or "Mama". She has said the word, more like the sound, many times but would not call me anything. I've gotten whined at, pulled (as she says "pull"), pointed at, etc. Well, just this past week Grace has starting saying my name... Ma! What??? Do I look like Mrs. Ingles from Little House???? It cracks me up! She calls balloons in the store 'mamamama" and I get "ma"!?! She has only said it a handful of times, but it is progress. She still doesn't say it trying to get my attention or talk to me (like when she wakes up in the morning). She says it when she is looking for me (like when she is telling Brad she wants to know where I am) or when she is climbing on me (kind of labeling me). I always make a big deal out of it and she gets all excited.

Ma, well lets go down yonder and wade in the river! Love it, she is getting it! Somehow I never tire of hearing that special word!
Yeah I would prefer Mommy or Mama but hey its progress! You and Sally are too funny :-)
She does look Amish in that hat....but I think they keep their clothes on, ha ha.
Hey Ma!! Think back to the volcano and all the stress before court....you would have given anything to have your sweet Grace in your arms forever calling you Ma!! I love the Laura Ingels reference....ha ha Ma!!

I love it! It's another example of Grace demonstrating her individuality. :) She is too cute!
Grace is such a cutie in her hat..it looks like she loves posing for pictures finally.
mom hates when i call her "ma", too. it's just easier than saying mom. i'm going to make sure grace always calls you that. no need to thank me.
That's exactly how Clara started out a few weeks ago... calling me Ma. Now it's Mama or Mamama. Congrats! I know how excited you must be :)
She is so, so cute and obviously has such a big personality. It shines through in all her pictures!
